Our Morris Plains, NJ studio is a brand new facility. Yet Maria Alvarez as the owner established Stellar Healing Massage Therapy as a solo MT back in 2019 with the vision to make Massage Therapy more accessible to everyone from pregnant women to individuals medically ill either by cancer, autoimmune, or just day-to-day stresses. Helping women be aware of self-care and preventive care as a whole.
Her story comes a long way, from becoming a Massage Therapist in 2012 to becoming an Oncology Massage Therapist together with a Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapist a year and a half later. Providing massage therapy to cancer patients and patients suffering from inflammation, muscle tension, and overall stress from chemo to any type of treatment. Marias’ vision is to provide a calm, relaxing, comfortable, and stress-free environment for all as well as provide better employment opportunities for LMTs.

Our clients are women and men from all walks of life. We want everyone to feel welcome when they walk through our doors. Whether you are a stay home mom doing a million jobs at once, or you run a business, have a physically demanding job, have a desk job, are an athlete, or all of the above, our Massage Therapy services are aimed at helping you cope with all that life throws your way, as well as providing safe, effective massage therapy for patients with active cancer and in remission.
We believe that everyone deserves individual care by providing an approaching treatment with respect to the mind-body-spirit connection, drawing upon various techniques to best meet your expectations and overall goals for each massage session.

Maria, Owner & LMT
Maria is an LMT in the state of New Jersey. She is knowledgeable and nurturing. She is certified in a wide range of therapy techniques ranging from Swedish massage to medical Oncology Massage and Lymphatic Drainage massage. She uses her knowledge to help people find peace even through medical difficulties.
Her heartfelt desire is to help others feel relief and confidence while providing a safe space to be both mentally and physically accessible. Her unique and comprehensive approach to healing has helped countless people live more abundant, pain-free lives. Her focus is helping others with self-care and preventive care for a longer, stress-free healthier life.
Education and Volunteer Work
She completed the Massage and Bodywork studies program in Morristown and Haskell New Jersey from 2012-2014. She has completed over 1100 hours of training along with her Oncology Massage Therapy and an externship at Holy Name Medical center in Teaneck, NJ.
She worked alongside doctors and nurses assisting with cancer patients’ treatment as integrated medicine. She worked with cancer patients from Chemotherapy to Radiation providing comfort and relief from the treatment side effects. She also has done volunteering work for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and their funding of research to find blood cancer cures by doing a fundraising walk. Continues her work and hopes to help more women with breast cancer and other illness related.

Rachel Berkenkamp, LMT
Rachel is an LMT in New Jersey with over 250 hours of training education. She knew she wanted to be a massage therapist since she was 16 years old, and went straight into massage school right after graduating high school. Graduated from Anthem Institute in 2012, and also took cranial sacral therapy as well.
She believes that receiving a massage can help nourish our body, mind & spirit connection, which in return can benefit our relationship with ourselves & everyone around us. She has spa experience as well, working with many modalities and spa treatments for 9 years. Her favorite modality is Hot Stone Massage because they help relieve muscle tension and relax the muscles better than her hands.

Lisa Mack, CCT, HHC
Owner, Thermographer
Lisa’s Thermography and wellness has several locations throughout New Jersey, New York, and Florida that provides medical Thermography, a radiation-free state-of-art screening procedure that captures heat images through digital infrared thermal imaging. There is also no compression or risk of damage to implants or underlying breast tissue. Thermography can also be used for full body screening, for both women and men. Since a young girl, Lisa was always very active. Exercising energized her. She would eat all the best foods she could find to stay as healthy as Lisa could. Her passion was dance. At the age of 24, she noticed a slight change in her health. Lisa was having some difficulty when teaching dance, becoming more winded than normal. Her exercise and nutritional routine are what have kept her alive. So she decided to enroll at Wellness Simplified and become a Holistic Wellness Counselor. Lisa’s commitment to looking at each person as a whole allows her to work towards bringing balance back into their life by observing diet, supplements, and lifestyle.

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. I hope that what you will find here is an honest and straightforward approach to nutrition that will help you tune into your intuition regarding your body’s needs. Everyone is capable of healing. I would love to offer a helping hand and insight as to what your body is telling you. I don’t claim to know everything, but I am constantly studying and taking a multidisciplinary approach to holistic care, which includes a completed four-year nutrition degree and expanding my horizons through Traditional Chinese Medicine, German New Medicine, continuing education course credits, etc.
